Cricut rolls out their updates in “waves,” meaning that not every user gets the software update at the same time. There’s no way to force and update to get the newest version of Cricut Design Space. The best thing you can try is to exit and restart the Design Space program and see if it automatically updates to the current plugin. This update also adds more learning tools to Cricut Design Space, specifically for Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Explore 3. If you have one of these machines selected, you’ll see a Learning Plan link in the dropdown in the upper left of Design Space.

Your text will turn pink and this layer will automatically NOT cut. You’ll see the layer marked as Guide in the Layers Panel on the left. If you make the text box narrower than your text, Cricut Design Space will automatically wrap your text (force it to another line). These updates have to do with the way that items are handled on the Canvas within Cricut Design Space.

There are also minor improvements to the Automatic Background Remover tool, which helps with removing backgrounds on more complex images. The biggest update for this round is the addition of keyboard shortcuts (sometimes called “hotkeys”) in Cricut Design Space. If you have used keyboard shortcuts in other programs, many of these function the same way. There are also some changes to the notifications in Cricut Design Space added in June.

With this update, you have the ability to turn shapes, text, and images into guides to help you build your projects. After all, Roderick Usher is a poet and artist, well-read (witness the assortment of books which he and the narrator read together), sensitive and indeed overly sensitive (to every sound, taste, sight, touch, and so on). Many critics have interpreted the story as, in part, an autobiographical portrait of Poe himself, although we should be wary, perhaps, of speculating too much about any parallels.

Her death brings Verna no joy, but she does tell Lenore about all the good her mother does in the future thanks to Lenore’s heroic choice to save her — before allowing the youngest and kindest Usher to die peacefully. Roderick and Madeline sold their souls the night they killed Fortunato CEO Rufus Griswold (Michael Trucco) — the same night they met Verna, on New Year’s Eve 1979. Using Griswold as a fall guy to begin Roderick’s takeover, the twins drugged him on the night of the company holiday party. When Griswold woke, he found that they’re sealing him behind a brick wall in the basement of the new Fortunato building he’s constructing. His cries for help were useless, because the holidays meant no one would be back in the building for days. But he wouldn’t last the night anyway — Madeline poisoned him with cyanide.

According to Roderick, Madeline suffers from a cataleptic disease that has gradually limited her mobility. As Roderick talks about his sister’s illness, the narrator sees her pass through a distant part of the house.
